Thermal Bliss in the Andes
Your adventure begins in Quito, where your private guide picks you up and sets the tone for the days ahead. Together, you drive into the high Andes toward Termas de Papallacta, a retreat famed for its hot springs and mountain scenery. After lunch, the afternoon is yours to soak in the warm, mineral-rich waters or wander the surrounding páramo trails. As evening falls, enjoy dinner and a restful night in this tranquil setting.
From Highlands to the Amazon Foothills
Enjoy breakfast at Papallacta before descending from the mountains to La Casa del Suizo, your first taste of the Amazon basin. Upon arrival, enjoy a fresh lunch overlooking the river, then embark on your first afternoon adventure — a guided activity introducing the region’s vibrant nature and culture. Dinner at the lodge completes the day, with the soft chorus of the rainforest as your backdrop.
Amazon Explorations at La Casa del Suizo
The day is dedicated to discovering the wonders of the Amazon surrounding La Casa del Suizo. Morning and afternoon excursions may include forest walks, canoe rides, or visits to local communities, each offering a deeper connection to the region’s wildlife and traditions. All meals are enjoyed at the lodge, where comfort meets the warmth of Ecuadorian hospitality.
Along the Napo River to Sacha Lodge
After breakfast, continue your journey down the Napo River, entering the buffer zone of Yasuní National Park. Here lies Sacha Lodge, set in a private 5,000-acre (2,000-hectare) reserve. After a fresh Amazonian lunch and orientation, begin your first guided excursion with your private naturalist. Trails, waterways, or canopy views reveal the first glimpses of the wildlife that thrives in this untouched ecosystem. As night falls, enjoy dinner and the option of a nocturnal walk, discovering the forest’s hidden life.
Immersed in the Rainforest
Spend the day exploring Sacha Lodge’s vast network of trails, towers, and waterways. Morning and afternoon excursions reveal a tapestry of biodiversity — from colorful birds high in the canopy to elusive creatures along shaded forest paths. After dinner, join your guide for an evening outing, when the jungle reveals its nocturnal wonders.

Another full day offers even more opportunities to connect with the rainforest. Explore new trails, paddle through quiet creeks, or climb the canopy walkways for sweeping views. Like the day before, morning, afternoon, and evening activities ensure you experience the Amazon from every perspective. All meals are enjoyed at the lodge, with moments of relaxation in between.
Farewell to the Amazon
Enjoy a final breakfast as the mist lifts over the rainforest. Then travel by canoe back to Coca, where you’ll board your flight to Quito. With your return, your journey through the highlands and Amazon comes to a close — but the memories of its landscapes, wildlife, and warmth will remain with you forever.
