Cuisine at Sacha Lodge

Flavors of the Rainforest

Where nature inspires every plate

At Sacha Lodge, dining is an extension of the rainforest itself—fresh, local, and full of life. Our chefs transform regional ingredients like paiche, heart of palm, macambo, and guayusa into creative Amazon-inspired dishes that celebrate Ecuador’s biodiversity and culture.

From lakeside calm to open-air charm

Spaces to Taste and Feel the Amazon

Meals are enjoyed in two distinct settings, each with its own rhythm and atmosphere: La Balsa, an open-air restaurant that floats above Pilchicocha Lake, and Oropendola, an elegant dining space surrounded by lush greenery. From the first morning light reflected on the water to evenings under a sky of stars, every meal becomes an exploration not just of taste, but of place.

Oropendola Restaurant & Bar

Dinner à la carte

Evenings at Oropendola unfold in a space that blurs the line between indoors and out. Wooden textures, open architecture, and the sounds of the forest create a natural rhythm as guests savor a three-course à la carte dinner inspired by Ecuador’s regions with Amazonian ingredients, coastal seafood, and Andean produce, prepared with creativity and balance.

La Balsa Restaurant & Bar

Breakfast & Lunch buffet

Suspended over the waters of Pilchicocha Lake, La Balsa offers an open-air setting where dining feels immersed in nature.

Morning mist rises over the water as breakfast is served, a generous buffet of tropical fruits, fresh breads, and hot selections. Lunch follows the rhythm of the day’s adventures. After excursions, guests return to enjoy a buffet of Ecuadorian and international dishes while giant river otters glide beneath the deck, with views of the forest reflected in the lake.

The Bar

Moments to Savor

Whether by the lake or beneath the stars, each drink is an invitation to pause, breathe, and take in the rare beauty of your surroundings.

Sacha Lodge’s bars offer an inviting selection of cocktails, wines, and spirits that reflect the warmth and creativity of Ecuadorian hospitality.
